Front Yard Concept

The household wanted a front-yard refresh that would improve curb appeal without becoming a major landscape overhaul. The goal was a clean, modern entry that stayed open, full-sun friendly, low-maintenance, and realistic for a modest project budget.

The Need

  • Create a clearer path from the public sidewalk to the front porch
  • Improve curb appeal while keeping most of the existing lawn
  • Replace a scattered planting approach with a more intentional, low-maintenance layout
  • Develop visuals and planning notes that could support HOA approval and contractor conversations
  • Keep the core project as close to a budget as possible

The Approach

ClearSpace developed a clean modern entry concept centered on one major move: a straight, approximately three-foot-wide paver path leading from the sidewalk toward the front porch.

The landscape direction used limited, repeated full-sun plant types rather than a crowded mix. Rock became the primary ground cover in planting areas, with grasses, low evergreen structure, and seasonal flowering plants used as simple accents. Most of the lawn remained in place to preserve openness, manage cost, and avoid unnecessary removal.

An optional evening concept also showed how low-profile path lighting could improve visibility and curb appeal without becoming a required part of the initial phase.

The Outcome

The completed plan gave the Jenkins household a clear, usable direction before spending money: preserve the lawn, prioritize the paver path, keep planting simple, use rock-based beds in a balanced way, and treat lighting as an optional later addition.

It also provided an HOA-ready project description, contractor bid guidance, a restrained plant palette, and practical checkpoints for confirming final path alignment, materials, plant quantities, and installation scope. The result is a polished but achievable front-entry refresh that improves arrival, curb appeal, and ease of maintenance without overbuilding the space.
